Ishq Mein is just a picture that I had no curiosity about if it came out. In reality, the sole reason I went to the theatre was because I wanted to see whether or not Keanu Reeves would end up getting a fantastic wife later on. This picture was not even on my set of likely future films I'd to see. That is until I saw it. Once you start to watch I Shimq Mein, the plot thickens and it will become evident that this is a lot more than only a film created for the sole intention of earning profits. The very first thing that the audience must do is sit and take note. It is obvious that the narrative is based on real life events, so as you may notice if they re-visit the village where the story was based upon. They have been there to solve the mystery and also to get a little fun with the guide protagonist (played by Annette Benning).
What's really a small funny regarding the story may be the manner in which certain scenes are told. For instance, at a single point within the film, the lead character gets to the morgue to find a body that's already been mangled to the stage of using its head severed just above the eyes. Upon further inspection of the scene, we learn that the body had been already mutilated hours before. This scene then makes you understand what's happening with the main character's personality as he slowly loses his mind from the extreme pain he could be experiencing. This allows you to see that the story has to be told with a slow and steady pace to produce an impact on the audience.
There's not any need for me to share with you that the acting in the film is amazing. The two leads, both Michael Chiklis and Leighton Meester each provide their performance that will stick with you long after you've seen the film. Their personalities are defined perfectly by the way in which they are portrayed. They are both deeply emotional, yet never provide the viewer reason to question what they're feeling. The supporting cast with this film is fantastic. The majority of the performers are likeable and don't over act.
Certainly one of the best things about that film is its own director. Zoya Yildirah is known on her film"New Body", but she brings the skill of a screenplay writer to the monitor with her second feature. This film would be more successful if it had a strong script to draw from. The narrative is slow-paced and the story arc is simple enough you could even write out the different plot points without too much work. The cinematography is completed well, with some very inventive shots throughout the movie.
In general, I give this movie a rating of 3.5 stars out of five. This picture is certainly worth watching. You won't be disappointed, and you'll most certainly come away with a sense of awe at how talented Yildirah are at writing a script. I trust that people who haven't seen"Ishq Mein Marjawan" love her gift as an artist. This film is certainly worth seeing!
